About Me

Now I know what you’re thinking. Yeah, yeah, here we go again. Another January blog that’s just going to be followed by the inevitable January curse. (It’s literary lunacy 😉 ) But to that, all I have to say is that this blog is not a New Year’s resolution. It’s a project that I have been thinking about for a while, and I’ve decided that now is finally the time to get started on it.

So what do I aim to deliver, in this literary blog? Well, of course, I will be writing about books. But not just books. I have a lot of books that fell into my lap in interesting ways and at certain key moments of my life, and this, along with the contents between their covers, makes them all the more special to me. So expect a personal twist on conventional book reviews. Although I will, of course, also be giving my opinions on the books themselves.

I will also be writing about all things words. As a writer who feels she needs more encouragement to write regularly, now that she has graduated with her Bachelor’s in English literature and screenwriting, I am very happy to have a new project to sink my teeth in. I may post samples of my own work, along with creativity prompts, writing tips, lists of favourite words, and opinion articles on topics concerning reading, writing, and the life in between. But I don’t want to make any promises yet. For now, I’m just going to aim to post once a week and try to build a fun little community of readers and writers while I’m at it.

Now, you’re probably wondering who I am. My name is Natasha, I speak four languages, have dabbled in a couple others, am about as confused as to which country I’m from as you are. (But I’m European, I do know that much!) I love reading, always have. And writing. It’s the most therapeutic thing to let my overstimulated imagination out onto something. I also love music and film, so these may pop up as guests here and there! Because they are also intrinsically linked to literature. All the arts are linked, really, in so many ways.

I used to have a lot of pets. Now I just dream of the day I will live in nature surrounded by animals again. (I was so desperate to move to a city as a teenager, but kid me knew best when she said: I hate the city I’m gonna live in the forest forever! (I don’t actually know if I said that, but it sounds a lot like something I would have said as a kid. I think kid me and adult me have more in common with each other than teenage me will ever have.))

So for now, that’s it. I may come back to this in the future, change some things around, and decide that I want to introduce myself in a completely different way. But since I have been stagnating for so long on actually getting started and doing the damn thing, here it is, here are the words that establish me, and now I can finally get started. Happy reading!
